    Stop The Spread Of Infection

    The Root Canal Treatment Process

    Diagnostics & Preparation

Your dentist will begin by performing a comprehensive examination and analyzing your x-rays to pinpoint the source of your dental discomfort. If there is an infection present, they will evaluate the extent of the issue to decide if root canal treatment is required. If a root canal is deemed necessary, your dentist will administer local anesthesia before starting the procedure and will also discuss sedation choices with you.

    Removing Decay & Infected Pulp

Once you are comfortable and fully numb, your dentist will begin by removing any decayed or infected material. The process starts with the enamel and progresses towards the pulp. After the infected pulp is extracted, the canals will be thoroughly cleaned and the area will be flushed with a specialized disinfectant to eliminate any lingering infection.

    Filling & Sealing

Once your tooth has been cleaned and sanitized, a rubber-like material known as "gutta-percha" will be used to fill the inside. This material is inert and serves to support the tooth's structure after the pulp has been removed. Depending on the extent of decay and the amount of healthy enamel left, the tooth will then be restored with either a filling or a dental crown.
