The Denture Treatment Process
Impressions or Scans
Once your treatment is approved, your dentist will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan. Scans or impressions of your mouth will be taken and sent to the dental lab to begin creating your prosthetic. In the meantime, temporary dentures may be provided to protect your gums until your final dentures are ready.
Tooth Extraction (If Needed)
If your new dentures require it, extractions may be necessary. Your dentist will prioritize your comfort by numbing your mouth or using sedation before the procedure. Following the extraction, it is crucial to rest for a minimum of 24 hours. Your dentist will give you specific instructions to help you handle any discomfort and promote a successful healing process.
Fitting and Adjustments
Once your dentures are finished, you will come back to the office for the fitting process. We will make any needed adjustments to ensure your dentures are comfortable and functional. Remember to schedule yearly checkups for your dentures, as with proper care they can last up to 10 years.
